Это то, чего так часто не хватает на уроках и в общении с людьми и детьми. Я считаю, что не бывает хороших уроков без понимания психологии и мотивации студента. Потому что личность всегда выше, чем уроки, и скиллы типа critical thinking всегда должны быть вовлечены в урок, а еще лучше урок строить так, чтобы язык был средством для развития много чего другого.
Ведет курс просто отличный преподаватель, молодой и увлеченный, и информация реально очень свежая, интересная и провокативная. Прямо сразу хочется что-то менять и улучшать.
Positive psychology meets K-12 pedagogy. This course explores key ideas of positive psychology and shows how great teachers apply those lessons to maximize student engagement and accomplishment. Through lectures, discussions, interviews and footage of great educators in action, you’ll learn how to integrate character-based objectives into your own teaching.
The course will explore questions like:
1. How can positive psychology help us maximize student engagement and accomplishment?
2. What does it look like to implement a growth mindset in your classroom?
3. Can you teach grit in the classroom? If so, how?
4. Should an educator measure character? If so, how?

- The midterm (45% of final grade) is due on Sunday, June 1, 2014 at 11:59 PM (EST). You may attempt this assessment up to two times.
- The final assignment (50% of grade) is peer-assessed and is due at 11:59 PM (EST) on June 11, 2014. Evaluations of Peer Assessments are due at 11:59 PM (EST) on June 16, 2014.
- Class Participation – as an incentive to participate in discussion forums, 5% of your final grade is based on your involvement in discussion forums. To get full participation credit, you must post at least five (5) unique responses. The responses can be in any discussion thread.
